Dear Friends,

The sudden news of a terrible on-road accident left me in shock today. It  was a  normal day like any other, people rushing to work, kids going to school, housewives seeing their husbands and kids off, housemaids doing their routine work, drivers driving their respective vehicles…

Life could have been just smooth, however fate had something else in mind. Just in a fraction of seconds lives changed drastically. It was something out of the scenes of Final Destination- death chasing humans kind of thing….Whose mistake, or whose carelessness resulted in the death of many is difficult to be concluded as of today (the truth will be out eventually). A slight mistake lead to collision of a dumper and a bus. The bus rammed into a tree across the road, the trailer toppled down the slope and fell on two Cars that were passing by on the road below. Two two-wheelers were also affected in the collision. The mishap resulted in death of 7 people, traffic jam that lasted for hours, and collateral damage that is yet to be accounted for. Whatever the cause, the result was loss of some precious lives. Maybe a Father, a brother, a son, a daughter, a mother or a sister lost forever…

This my dears is the stark reality of life… Our lives though precious, may be lost in just matter of seconds. So what are we all running for? For better lives? For earning more? For popularity? No matter what the goal, we ought to remember that there is one thing we are missing in all this..The LIFE itself….

TREASURE your LIFE. LIVE it with your LOVED ones. Spend time with them, not with your mobiles or television. No matter how tired you are, smile once for the ones who love to see you smile. Be kind, be loving, be understanding, and don’t give away to anger. Be thankful for the life that has been given to us and live it to the fullest. I have decided to never leave my home in anger, I have decided to apologize if I am wrong, I have decided to be a better person, a better wife, a better daughter and a better sister. I have decided to be a better human. There is lots and lots to be done, and I have miles to go…

With gratitude for the life that I am living and sorrow in heart for those who lost their lives today (May their souls Rest In Peace), this is Satrangee Parachute signing off for today.
